The collaborative efforts with Air Botswana and the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana reflect a strong commitment to the initiative’s goals. The combination of an inspirational flight, robotics and coding workshops, and motivational sessions creates a holistic approach to education and skill development.

 

Having impacted over 1500 young people in Gaborone, Francistown, and Jwaneng is a significant achievement. It’s clear that the initiative is making a positive difference in the lives of these children, providing them with valuable skills and a vision for their future.

Dare To Dream Aspires to Position Botswana as a Leader in Aviation & Aerospace Technologies

Born in the midst of the global pandemic in November 2020, the FLY FOR STEAME Southern Africa Initiative stands as a groundbreaking program to ignite interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, and Entrepreneurship (STEAME). This initiative is dedicated at inspiring the next generation, especially the girl child, through introductory inspirational flight over Gaborone, alongside robotics and coding workshops, motivational talks, and leadership sessions, this initiative is designed to unlock curiosity and fuel ambition in young minds, showing them the vast potential of STEAME careers.

Since its inception, FLY FOR STEAME has positively impacted the lives of over 1,000 young people (both boys & girls) from various regions across Botswana, including Gaborone, Francistown, Jwaneng, and rural areas such as Goshwe, Mathangwane, Takatokwane, Rasesa, Dikgonnye, Makgori, Diloro, Semolale, and Mabuasehube, among others. This outreach has been made possible through partnerships with Air Botswana and the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB), which have provided invaluable support in delivering inspirational flights and raising awareness about the diverse possibilities within aviation and aerospace industries.

Our broader mission extends beyond inspiring the next generation; we aim to establish a dedicated Youth Aviation Development Hangar at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, where we have been allocated plots for this purpose. This state-of-the-art facility will be the first of its kind in Botswana a hub of innovation and advanced technology that will not only nurture young talent but also position Botswana as a leader in youth aviation development in the SADC region. Equipped with cutting-edge tools and resources, the hangar will offer hands-on aerospace experiences, immersive aviation education, and a platform to spark groundbreaking ideas among the youth.
