Every Digital Future Needs a Teacher Who Believes In It

As technology continues to shape the future of education, empowering teachers with digital skills has become more important than ever. On 15 May, Dare To Dream, in partnership with Botswana Digital & Innovation Hub, brought together female teachers from Tonota District for a transformative Girls in ICT Week training focused on Robotics, Coding, Artificial Intelligence, and digital innovation.

The training was designed to equip educators with practical technology skills that they can take back into their classrooms, creating opportunities for learners, especially girls to engage with the world of STEAME (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, and Entrepreneurship).

Throughout the programme, teachers explored the foundations of coding through Scratch, a creative platform that introduces programming concepts through interactive stories, animations, and projects. Through hands-on activities, participants gained confidence in using digital tools while discovering new ways to make learning more engaging and innovative.

Beyond learning technical skills, the training created a space for collaboration, curiosity, and empowerment. The educators shared ideas, explored new approaches to teaching, and experienced firsthand how technology can be used as a tool for creativity, problem-solving, and transformation.

At the conclusion of the training, participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their commitment and participation. The certificates represented more than completion they symbolised a step forward in strengthening digital skills among educators and expanding access to technology-driven learning.

Together with Botswana Digital & Innovation Hub, Dare To Dream continues to invest in initiatives that empower communities by building the capacity of those who inspire the next generation.

When we empower teachers, we multiply the impact, reaching classrooms, schools, and future innovators who will shape tomorrow.
