On 27 January 2026, our team had the opportunity to attend the Youth Budget Pitso hosted by the Ministry of Finance, a platform designed to create meaningful dialogue between young people and national decision-makers on issues that directly impact their future.
The engagement provided an important space for young people to gain insight into the country’s budgeting processes, understand economic priorities, and contribute their perspectives on how national resources can be utilised to support inclusive development.
Beyond discussions around budgets and policies, the event highlighted the importance of youth participation in shaping the direction of the nation. By creating opportunities for young people to engage with leaders and policymakers, platforms such as the Youth Budget Pitso help strengthen civic awareness, accountability, and active participation in governance.
The event was further strengthened by a keynote address delivered by the Vice President of Botswana, who also serves as the Minister of Finance, who spoke on the importance of youth involvement in national development and the role young people play in driving innovation, growth, and positive change.
Our participation reflects our continued commitment to supporting initiatives that amplify youth voices, promote knowledge sharing, and contribute to building a generation that is informed, engaged, and ready to take part in shaping Botswana’s future.
